Notice Writing Marking Scheme

As per the new pattern, ASSEB will ask one question on notice which will be for 5 marks. The marks breakdown as per ASSEB guidelines is as follows:

Format (1 mark)

Format (style) of the ‘Title’ is pre-determined.
At the top, the title should have the name of the organisation putting the notice.
The next line includes the ‘NOTICE’.
Upper case is not mandatory but is preferred to capture attention.

Content (3 marks)

It is the main body of a notice. It should be written within 50 words.
It should be precise yet deliver all the essential information.
It usually answers the questions: what, how, when, where, why etc.
The signature of the issuing authority is made at the bottom on the left side of the notice.
It should cover all suggested necessary information to easily score 3 marks.

Expression (1 mark)

The quality of writing and expression is evaluated to decide if the final 1 mark is deserved by the student or not.
Grammatical accuracy, sentence structure and spellings are the main checkpoints.
