Three persons killed in a tragic road accident / Road accident claims three lives


Baihata: January 12, 2021 : A tragic road accident took place yesterday on NH 31 near Baihata Chariali, Kamrup rural around 9 a.m. The accident took place when a lorry was trying to overtake a bus heading towards Guwahati. The lorry driver was driving at a high speed, lost it controll. In a bid to save a collision with the bus he hit a winger in which twelve passengers were travelling. Three people including a school going boy died on the spot, nine passengers severely injured. The accident caused traffic jam, within minutes, a large number of people gathered at the site. In the meantime, the lorry driver managed to escaped from the spot. Police called in, ambulance van arrived, injured were rushed to the GMCH. Police officers controlled the situation and removed people from the street. Police source told they seized the lorry and filed a case against the owner and driver of the lorry.
