Purpose of Story writing

Purpose of story writing is to improve creative and imaginative thinking. A story usually narrates an incident with its associated happenings or may expand on one thought or idea.


8 Main Points of a story writing

While writing a story some points should be keep in mind, they are

A title must be given to the story. 
• Focus should be on a single incident.

5 Main elements of a story writing

The different elements which comprise a good short story are follows

Theme
Theme is the main element of a short story. It may be a moral /message / a lesson learnt from the story.

Plot
Plot is the logical sequences of events which leads to the conclusion. The type of plot may be adventurous, mystery, comic or suspenseful etc.

Setting
Setting is the background or location where the action takes place. It may be realistic or fictional.

Characters
Without characters a story is lifeless. It may be people, animals or other living creatures, but they must be based on real life to give the story credibility.

Atmosphere
Atmosphere / mood / situation may be cheerful , happy, tense suspenseful depending on the question.


Steps of a story writing

• Start the story in an interesting manner which attracts the readers.

• Develop the characters in the story through meaningful dialogues.

• Use the setting and context to develop the mood and atmosphere.

• Build up to a climax and find a resolution to the conflict, thus ending the story appropriately.

A fox was wandering  through the forest.He was very hungry and was in search of food. For the whole day he found nothing to eat. Suddenly the fox saw a crow overhead sitting over a tree with a piece of meat in her beak.

Seeing the piece of meat the fox got tempted and wished to have the piece of meat from the crow. He made a plan to deceive the crow. The fox addressed the crow with a friendly manner and told her that she is gifted with a sweet voice, her voice is melodious but unfortunately he hadn't heard her since a long time.

Hearing that the crow melted and begun to sing but when she open her mouth the piece of meat she had in her beak fell down. And then the clever fox picked it up and went way happily. The fox was very happy as his plan was successful.  And the crow then got the lesson that Do not trust a flatterer.
