• Pronoun Defination

A pronoun is a word used in place of a noun, we use pronouns to make sentences less cumbersome and less repetitive.

एक सर्वनाम एक संज्ञा के स्थान पर प्रयोग किया जाने वाला शब्द है, हम वाक्यों को कम बोझिल और कम दोहरावदार बनाने के लिए करते हैं।

বক্তাজনে কথা কওঁতে কোনো বিশেষ noun ক ঘনে ঘনে ব্যৱহাৰ নকৰি সেই noun ৰ পৰিবৰ্তে বেলেগ শব্দ বা পদ ব্যৱহাৰ কৰিব পাৰে । noun ৰ সলনি ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা পদ কে সৰ্বনাম (pronuon) বোলে ।

e.g.
Hari is a good boy . Hari always goes to school.
हरि एक अच्छा लड़का है ।  हरि हमेशा स्कूल जाते हैं |
হৰি এজন ভাল ল'ৰা । হৰিয়ে সদায় বিদ্যালয়লৈ যায়।

# Instead of using Hari twice we can use He in place of Hari in the second sentence. 
दो बार हरि का उपयोग करने के बजाय हम दूसरे वाक्य में हरि के स्थान पर वह उपयोग कर सकते हैं। 
ইয়াৰ পৰিবৰ্তে বক্তাজনে এনেদৰে কব বা লিখিব পাৰে | দ্বিতীয় বাক্যটোত Hari ৰ সলনি He ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হৈছে

e.g.
Hari is a good boy . He always goes to school.
हरि एक अच्छा लड़का है।  वह हमेशा स्कूल जाता है।
হৰি এজন ভাল ল'ৰা । সি সদায় বিদ্যালয়লৈ যায়।

I, He, She, Me, My, His, Him, Her, They, We, Us, You, Myself, Yourself, Herself, Himself, Itself, Ourselves, Themselves, it, All, Another, Any, Anybody, Anyone, Anything, Each, Everybody, Everyone, Everything, Which, Who, Whom, What, None, Mine, Ours, Yours, Some, Its, That, Those etc.


• Pronoun Types

Grammarians classify pronouns into Nine types.

Personal pronoun              ব্যক্তিবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Possessive pronoun         অধিকৰবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Demostrative pronoun      নিৰ্দেশকবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Interrogative pronoun       প্ৰশ্নবোধক সৰ্বনাম
Reflexive pronoun             আত্মবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Relative pronoun               সম্বন্ধবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Indefinite pronoun             অনিৰ্দেশকবাচক সৰ্বনাম
Distributive pronoun         বিভাজক সৰ্বনাম
Reciprocal pronoun           পাৰস্পৰিক সৰ্বনাম

• Personal Pronoun

A personal pronoun refers to a specific person or thing and changes its form to indicate person, number, gender and case.

কোনো এজন নিৰ্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তিৰ সলনি ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয় বা ব্যক্তিবাচক বিশেষ্যৰ সলনি ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয় ।

যেনে : I have a pen
           He went to Delhi.
           She is reading a book.
           They do not waste time.

Personal pronouns are classified into two types.
Personal pronoun  ক দুটা ভাগত ভাগ কৰা হৈছে -

(i) Subjective pronoun & (ii) Objective pronoun

• Subjective Pronoun (subject

A subjective pronoun indicates that the pronoun is acting as the subject of the sentence. The subjective pronouns are -
 I, He, She, We, It, They

example:-
(i) I was very happy to reach the bus stand in time.
(ii) You are surely the strongest friend I have ever met.
(iii) He broke the window pane.

• Objective Pronoun (objective

An objective pronoun indicates that the pronoun is acting as an object of a verb, preposition or infinitive phrase. The objective pronouns are -
You, Me, Her, Him, Us, Them

example:-
(i) Renuka lives with her parents.
(ii) After using the mask, Judu threw it into the dustbin.
(iii) Teacher adviced us not to waste time.

• Possessive Pronoun

A possessive pronoun indicates that the pronoun is acting as a marker of possession and defines who owns a particular object or person.

এইবোৰ Pronoun এ কোনো এটা  Noun ৰ কোনো এটা বিষয় বা বস্তুৰ ওপৰত অধিকাৰ বা সম্পৰ্ক থকা বুজায় ।

The possessive pronouns are :-
 Mine মোৰ           Her's তাইৰ          His তেওঁৰ
Our আমাৰ        Theirs সিহতৰ       Your তোমাৰ    
     Its ঐইটোৰ

যেনে: The pen is mine
          His book is on the table
          The umbrella is her's
           Is this your's ?

• Demonstrative Pronoun

A demonstrative pronoun points to and identifies a noun.

এইবোৰ pronoun এ ব্যক্তি বা বস্তুক নিৰ্দেশ কৰে ।

'This' and 'These' refer to things that are nearby either in space or in time, while 'That' and 'Those' refer to things that are farther away in space or time.

The demonstrative pronouns are This, That, These and Those. This and That are used to refer to singular nouns and These and Those are used to plural nouns.

যেনে: This is a nice picture.
           That book is mine.
           These are my books.
           Those apartments are for sale.

• Interrogative Pronoun

An interrogative pronoun is used to ask questions.

যিবোৰ pronoun ক প্ৰশ্ন কৰাৰ বাবে ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয় ।

The interrogative pronouns are ' who, whom, which, what' and the compounds formed with the suffix 'ever' ( whoever, whomever, whichever and whatever).

যেনে: Who are you ?
         What is your name ?
         Where is your house ?
         Whom do you want to talk to ?
         Which book do you want ?

• Reflexive Pronoun

A reflexive pronoun is use to refer back to the subject of the clause or sentence.

The reflexive pronouns are myself, yourself, herself, himself, itself, ourselves, yourselves and themselves. 

যিবোৰ pronoun এ আনৰ নোলোৱাকৈ নিজা অৰ্থ বুজাবৰ কাৰনে ব্যৱহাৰ কৰা হয় ।

Pronoun টো একবচন হলে self আৰু বহুবচন হলে selves ব্যৱহাৰ হয় ।

যেনে : He himself did the work.
         She herself wrote the poem.
         We shall do it ourselves.

• Relative Pronoun

A relative pronoun is use to link one phrase or clause to another phrase or clause.

The relative pronouns are who, whom, that and which. The compound relative pronouns are whoever, whomever and whichever.

Who and whoever is use to refer to the subject of a clause or sentence and whom and whomever is to refer to the objects of a verb.

যিবোৰ pronoun এ বাক্যটোৰ পূৰ্বত বহা noun বা pronoun ক নিৰ্দেশ কৰে ।

যেনে: This is Ram.He is from India.
           You may invite whomever you like to the party.
            The student who win first prize will be awarded.

• Indefinite Pronoun

An indefinite pronoun is a pronoun referring to an identifiable but not specified person or thing.

The most common indefinite pronouns are:- all, any, anybody, anyone, anything, each, everybody, everyone, everything, few, many, nobody, one, none, several, some, somebody, someone. 

যিবোৰ pronoun এ কোনো নিৰ্দিষ্ট ব্যক্তি বা বস্তু নুবুজায় তাক indefinite pronoun বোলে ।

যেনে: One must do ones duty.
           Anybody can do this.
            None will live forever

• Distributive Pronoun

যিবোৰ pronoun এ বহুতৰ মাজত এটাক বুজায় তাক distributive pronoun বোলে ।

যেনে: each, either, neither
          Let each of us go to picnic.
           You may join either party.
           Neither boy is honest.

• Reciprocal Pronoun 

যিবোৰ pronoun এ পৰষ্পৰৰ লগত সম্পৰ্ক বুজায় তাক reciprocal pronoun বোলে ।

যেনে:
         Amal and Bimal respect each other.
         The players of the team love one another.
