Long Walk to Freedom class 10 summary in English / Nelson Mandela Long walk to freedom class 10 summary

10th May 1994, was a day of freedom for South Africa and there was huge gathering of international leaders and dignitaries. It was first non-racial democratic government.


The ceremony was held in the Union Building in Pretoria. Mandela gave speech on the victory and pledged to liberate his country and its people from poverty, suffering gender and discrimination.


After that African military jets and helicopters demonstrate their loyalty to the newly elected government. On the occasion two national anthems were sung.


Mandela thanked the people who sacrificed their lives for the freedom. Mandela gave his opinion on South African people, courage, love and hate honourable and transitory freedom.


He mentioned about the racial differences "apartheid". He described journey of his life from a common and fearful man to a bold one and about his political journey after joining the African National Party and his desired for life of respect and dignity and obligations. He wanted the oppressor and the oppressed to be liberated.

10 मई 1994, दक्षिण अफ्रीका के लिए स्वतंत्रता का दिन था और अंतर्राष्ट्रीय नेताओं और गणमान्य लोगों का भारी जमावड़ा था। यह पहली गैर-जातीय लोकतांत्रिक (Non racial democratic government) सरकार थी।



समारोह प्रिटोरिया में यूनियन बिल्डिंग में आयोजित किया गया था। Mandela ने जीत पर भाषण दिया और अपने देश और उसके लोगों को गरीबी, पीड़ित लिंग और भेदभाव से मुक्त करने का संकल्प लिया।
