Human Rights Day Observed
Guwahati: 11 December 2022: The human rights day was observed yesterday at XYZ college. On this day in 1948, the United Nation’s General Assembly adopted the Universal Declaration of Human Rights Day. The event was organised by the student union body, the meeting started from 10 am. The principal presided over it several teachers including students spoke on the significance of the day. The day is celebrated to improve the physical, social, cultural and spiritual well being and welfare of the vulnerable group of people globally. The students presented a role play highlighting the issue of lack of awareness among the illiterate and poor about their basic rights and how they are repressed by the powerful for their selfish motives. Finally the programme was concluded at around 2:00 pm.
