Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan was born on 5th September in 1888. When some of his students and friends approached him and requested him to allow them to celebrate his birthday.

Then he said, "instead of celebrating my birthday separately, it would be my proud privilege, if 5th September is observed as Teachers day". From then onwards, the 5th of September has been observed as Teachers Day, in India.

Teachers day is observed on different dates in various countries. World Teachers Day, also known as International Teachers Day is observed on 5 October.

Teachers day, 5th of September is observed as the teachers day, it is a very special occasion for a teacher and a student. It is celebrated by students every year to pay respect to their teachers. 

Teachers day is celebrated on the birth anniversary of a great teacher Dr Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan, who was a well-known diplomat, scholar, a great teacher of our time and the first President of Independent India. 

On this day students present their sincere wishes, offer respect and felicitate their teachers with pens, flowers, cards, xorai etc. Students organise singing competitions, drama, dance competitions and some mimicry of their loving teachers to feel them proud. 

In some schools, some students dress up as teachers, act as teachers by conducting classes inorder to show love and affection to their respected teachers. 

We should realize the importance and need of teachers in our society and lives. We should celebrate teachers day every year. We should not forget their contribution in our lives.

शिक्षक दिवस एक महान शिक्षक डॉ। सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णन की जयंती पर मनाया जाता है, जो एक प्रसिद्ध राजनयिक, विद्वान, हमारे समय के एक महान शिक्षक और स्वतंत्र भारत के पहले राष्ट्रपति थे।

इस दिन छात्र अपनी ईमानदार इच्छाओं को प्रस्तुत करते हैं, सम्मान देते हैं और अपने शिक्षकों को कलम, फूल, कार्ड, Xorai आदि के साथ सम्मानित करते हैं। छात्र उन्हें गर्व महसूस करने के लिए गायन प्रतियोगिताओं, नाटक, नृत्य प्रतियोगिताओं और अपने प्यार करने वाले शिक्षकों की कुछ नकल का आयोजन करते हैं।

कुछ स्कूलों में, कुछ छात्र शिक्षक के रूप में तैयार होते हैं, अपने सम्मानित शिक्षकों के प्रति प्यार और स्नेह दिखाने के लिए कक्षाओं के संचालन के द्वारा शिक्षकों के रूप में कार्य करते हैं।
