                                        A Journey by Train

During the last summer vacation I made a journey by train to Tinsukia from Guwahati Kamakhya station. My maternal uncle lives there. He has a garments store, Tinsukia is an important town in Upper Assam.

My uncle telephoned my father that I should spend the summer vacation with them. In my uncle's family there are four members, uncle, unty, son named Siba and grandmother.

Father informed me the happy news, then I started packing all necessary things clothes, books etc. I got ready, I took my backpack and a suitcase.

My father came to see off me at the station, it was 9a.m. We had two cups of milk tea in the platform and eagerly waited for the train bound for Tinsukia. There were some other passengers too.
When there was the announcement I get into an inter class compartment and I got an sit at ease. after 15 minutes the guard of the train waved his green flag and then it started with a loud roar and long whistle. The hawkers began to shout inorder to sell their goods.

I began to enjoy the beauty of the nature outside. We were crossing through the green fields, busy towns that I can not describe them. I do not exactly remember the station we passed through.

At about 4p.m. the train reached Tinsukia. My uncle and brother were waiting for me at the railway station. I got down with my luggage and called them. They came to me, then we had snacks and started our journey to uncle's house by car. After 35 minutes we reached at uncle's house.

During this journey by train I enjoyed a lot and it was a pleasant journey that I would never forget it.
