Heat a large amount of water in a vessel. Try that the water should be lukewarm, now mix all the rajma in it and cover it with a plate. Leave the rajma like this for about half or 45 minutes. Till then you can start preparing for making Rajma. After 45 minutes remove the plate from the pot and check.

How many whistles for rajma after soaking ?

After this put it in the pressure cooker with water and put the lid on. After this turn on the gas and make about 3 to 4 whistles. Keep in mind that whenever you cook Rajma in this way, do not rush to open the lid of the pressure cooker. Try that the gas is completely released from the pressure cooker, then check by opening its lid.


Mix betel nut in rajma

If you have forgotten to soak the rajma overnight then there is no need to worry. For this, mix a little betel nut along with mixing rajma and water in a pressure cooker.

Now put the lid of the pressure cooker and then put 3 whistles. After this, open the lid of the pressure cooker and put some pieces of ice in it and put the pressure cooker back on the gas. 


Now let at least 4 whistles come and then turn off the gas. Let the pressure cooker gas on its own, when it comes out, prepare to make rajma. Keep in mind that always keep the flame of the gas on medium to boil the rajma.


Mix baking soda with water

If you are boiling kidney beans with the help of baking soda, then always keep in mind the quantity. Actually mixing baking soda in excess quantity can spoil the taste of kidney beans. 


For quick cooking of kidney beans, you should use less than half a teaspoon of baking soda in water. Once the rajma melts, clean it with water and use it for cooking again. Cleaning with water will remove the traces of baking soda to a great extent.

Whenever you soak rajma, first clean it thoroughly with normal water. Try leaving the kidney beans in cold water for 10 minutes. After this, try hot water or any other trick to boil it. At the same time, when it boils well, use the remaining water while making rajma.
