3. You are arranging a week-long Educational tour to Sivsagar in the last week of April. Describe your preparations to your classmates in about 100 words. 6 Marks

Ans: Dear friend we the students of class eleven have decided to go for a picnic to Sivasagar next week. I have heard alot about one of the most popular place of historical importance Sivasagar. I am much excited to go there and see the Rangghar, the Tolatal ghar, the dols and the Namdang stone bridge. We have also planned to visit Saraideu Maidam. Our journey will start at 5 O' clock from our school. We have already booked one luxurious bus for picnic. The teaching staff, non teaching staff and students are eagerly waiting for the days to come. Our picnic spot will be out side of the protected area. We have arranged it as dry picnic so that we can have much time in hand for roaming all around. Our journey will start on 3 Jan at 5 am from school without fail.

Your school/college observed the "World Environment Day" on 5th June. The students took part in a plantation programme and took out a rally to create awareness among the people. Prepare a report in about 100 words on the event to be published in your school/college wall magazine. 6 Marks

The world environment day was celebrated on 5 June at Sunrise Academy, Guwahati. The aim behind organizing this program was to give awareness to people about keeping the environment clean and safe from pollution. At 8 am, the students of the school gathered at the school campus and planted trees. At 10 am meeting was presided over by the honourable principal and some distinguished persons of the locality were present. Social activist Mr XYZ gave a valuable speech on the global warming and importance to protect our environment. A on the spot art competition was also organised among the students. A short play was performed to entertain the guest. The celebration was a grand one as the students along with the local people became conscious about their role on the earth.

Ans: A very good morning to honorable Principal sir, teachers and my friends. I am happy to stand here to give a speech today. The topic that I am going to talk about is Books are our best companions. Man is by nature a social animal, man cannot live alone. Books are our real friends, they are a world in themselves. They are like friends you never want to leave. They are always there to comfort us in your our of need. There is no better company than that of a good book. It helps us learn and discover areas that we have never explored before. Books are a source of knowledge. The ideas, concepts, adventures, and experiences expressed in a book help expand our knowledge base. They are a world of priceless treasures. Books also help to build character. They help a person gain confidence and give us the courage to speak. Every page of a great book is a storehouse of man’s best and noblest thoughts. Books can be our friends, philosophers, and our guides. They give us a wonderful company.

Most respectfully, through the regular column of your esteemed daily would like to draw the attention of the concerned authority towards a serious issue faced by our locality regarding no bus stop.

In the modern era, connectivity is the first condition for development. But our locality is regrettably tacking a good public transport system though our locality sits just two kilometers away from the heart of Jorhat Town. There is no bus stop within the radius of two kilometers and the citizens are left to suffer by the concerned authority. The local residents have to walk ahead a distance of two kilometres to catch buses for traveling. Many travelers miss the routine buses run by the Transport Department as they cannot catch them up in time. The senior citizens and students are worst sufferers because for them the distance of that two kilometers is very painful journey. In spite of our continuous approach to the Transport Department, the authority has not taken any action.

I would like to request you to bring this into light, so that it could reach to our Transport Minister and hope he would take immediate and necessary action to make the condition swifter.
