What is Horticulture Course ?

Diploma in Horticulture Overview

The duration of this course is between one year and two years. The duration of the course varies from institution to institution. Some institutes offer one year diploma course to students call who have completed class 12

Diploma in Horticulture Course Eligibility 

The minimum eligibility conditions to get admission in diploma in horticulture are Candidate must have passed Class X board examination with at least 35%. 

In a few states, preference in admission is given to the wards of farmers. A certain amount of seats is reserved in that category. Candidates must be between the age of 15 years to 22 years. Candidates below the minimum age can also apply for the course after submitting an age relaxation certificate.

BSc in Horticulture Science Overview

B.Sc. in Horticulture Science is an advanced programme in the field of agricultural science that comprises subjects regarding the cultivation of plants and the study of seeds. The programme also covers plant diseases, growth and genetics.

BSc in Horticulture Science Course Eligibility 

The candidates must complete 10+2 in Science background with PCB (Physics, Chemestry, Biology) as a compulsory subject to be eligible for BSc Horticulture Science course. 

The minimum required percentage varies from college to college, but the candidates must score above 50% aggregate marks in class 12 boards to be eligible for this course. This course is between three years and four years from the institute to institute.

Horticulture Course Admission Procedure

Merit Basis Admission:

To join the horticulture diploma course on a merit basis the colleges will announce the cut-off marks. Eligible candidates can apply online for the colleges.

Direct Admission:

Entrance Exam Based Admission:

Students have to register for the entrance examinations. Fill out the online applications released by the universities. Pay the examination fee. The examination board will release the admit cards. Candidates with Horticulture Diploma are given a special reservation during admission of B.Sc course. In some states, priority is given to admission to wards of farmers. A certain amount of seats are reserved in that category.
