- A determiner may determine or fix a place, person or thing.
- A determiner may identify two or more persons or things.
- A determiner may indicate a quantity or amount.
- A determiner may precede numerals or objects.

Classification of Determiners
1. Article : A, An, The.
2. Demonstrative Adjective : This, That, These, Those.
3. Quantifiers Determiners: A quantifier is a word or phrase which is used before a noun to indicate the amount or quantity.
Types of quantifiers are as follows
(i) Definite : One, Two, Hundred, Both, First, Second etc.

(iii) Distributive : All, Every, Each, Either, Neither etc.
(iv) Difference : Another, Other etc
(v) Comperative : More, Less, Fewer etc.
4. Possessives : My, His, Her, Hers, Your, Yours, Our, Ours, Their, Theirs, Its etc.
Determiners Rules ( Determiners use)
- A, An, Each, Everyone, Another and Either are used with singular countable nouns.
e.g. a woman, an elephant
- This and That are used with uncountable nouns/singular countable nouns.

- A little, A lot of, A great deal of, Much are used with uncountable nouns.
e.g. He has a lot of works to do.
- Most, More, A lot of, Enough, Adequate, Some are used with uncountable nouns/plural countable nouns.
