Gulliver's Travels class 5 Summary in English

The story Gulliver's Travels is about an adventurous trip of a sailor named Gulliver to an island where meets the gigantic creatures.


Once Gulliver reached an island with his companions. He sent a few of his men to see if there was water on the island. However, they could not find any water. All of a sudden, the companions were chased by a huge creature. Luckily they all escaped. 


Then Gulliver was alone on the island. He quickly climbed up a steep hill with fields of barley on either side and the corn rising upto forty feet. There was a fence to pass from one field to the other. Gulliver could not climb them because every step was six feet high.

Soon he saw a farmer in the next field. He too was a giant. He was accompanied by seven other giants like him to reap the corn. Gulliver got frightened and screamed loudly. 


But to his surprise, the ones who he considers monster were surprisingly kind to him. One giant picks him up and placed him on the ground. Thus, All the giant farmers came there to take a look at him. Gulliver tried to talk to them in different languages but they could not understand him. 


The farmer took Gulliver to his house and gave him crumbled bread to eat. Soon his one year old son came and grabbed him and put his head into his mouth. Gulliver shouted loudly and the baby dropped him at once. Gulliver would have fallen and broken his neck but the farmer’s wife caught him in time. She put Gulliver on her bed and covered him with a handkerchief.

एक बार गुलिवर अपने साथियों के साथ एक द्वीप पर पहुंचा।  उसने अपने कुछ आदमियों को यह देखने के लिए भेजा कि क्या द्वीप पर पानी है।  लेकिन, उन्हें पानी नहीं मिला।  अचानक, एक विशाल प्राणी ने साथियों का पीछा किया।  सौभाग्य से वे सभी बच गए।

लेकिन उनके आश्चर्य के लिए, जिन लोगों को वह राक्षस मानते थे, वे आश्चर्यजनक रूप से उनके प्रति दयालु थे।  एक दानव ने उसे उठाकर जमीन पर रख दिया।  इस प्रकार, सभी बड़े किसान उसे देखने के लिए वहाँ आए।  गुलिवर ने उनसे अलग-अलग भाषाओं में बात करने की कोशिश की लेकिन वे उसे समझ नहीं पाए।
