How to reach Arunachal Pradesh from Mumbai/Delhi

If you are planning to visit Arunachal Pradesh from Mumbai, Delhi or any other parts of India, then you can reach Arunachal by Train, Air and by Road. 


But at first you have to land in Guwahati, Assam. Guwahati is the gateway to the North-East. If you are a biker, then you can reach there via Guwahati.


If you are coming by train, Paltanbazar, Guwahati is the nearest train station. And if you are coming by air, Gopinath Bordoloi International Airport at Barjhar, Guwahati, Assam is the nearest airport. 




Travel guide to Arunachal Pradesh from Guwahati

Here I'm going to write about travel plan to Arunachal Pradesh from Guwahati, Average duration is 7 to 8 days and travelling cost will be under INR 30k including transport, accommodation, food and permit


Please note that we are going to travel by rented car like Innova, Sumo, Creta, Suv etc. And our staring point is Guwahati, Assam. So lets know about our travel plan to Arunachal Pradesh


We reached at Gopinath Bordoiloi International airport, we are going there four wheeler. 

How to plan a trip to Arunachal Pradesh 8 days tour



Day 1

Guwahati to Bomdila, distance is approx 339 kms and it will take 9 hours. Midway we'll stop at Shergaon and Kalaktang. We reach at Bomdila, check into hotel for night stay. 


Day 2

Bomdila to Tawang, distance is 173 kms, it will take 9 hours. After breakfast, check out from hotel and journey start. We'll visit Bomdila Monastery and Bomdila View Point. 


Then driving to Tawang. En route visit Sela Pass, the highest motorable pass and Jaswantgarh War memorial. It is dedicated to Martyr Jaswanth Singh of Indian Army in 1962 Indo-China war.


Reach at Tawang, check into hotel for night stay. 


Day 3

Our next destination is Tawang as there are places to explore. After breakfast we'll visit the Tawang monastery, Ani Gompa, Urgelling monastery. Urgelling monastery is known as the birth place of 6th Dalai Lama.


after lunch we'll visit Tawang emporium and also the Giant Buddha Statue. In the evening we'll visit the Tawang War Memorial and enjoy the light and sound show. 


Later again we'll return to hotel for night stay. 


Day 4

Day trip to Bumla Pass, distance is about 37 kms. After having breakfast, we'll drive to visit the Bumla Pass, which is India China Border Point. Then we'll visit Sangaster Lake and PT' SOE Lake. Return to hotel for night stay. 


Day 5

Tawang to Dirang, distance is 135 kms, it will take 7 hours. After breakfast, check out from the hotel and drive to Dirang. Midway we'll enjoy the beautiful Jung Falls. It is also known as the Nuranang Falls


Day 6

Dirang to Guwahati, distance is 320 kms, it will take 9 hrs. After breakfast, check out from the hotel, drive to visit the Dirang Monastery, the beautiful apple and kiwi gardens


Now it's time to say bye, start our drive towards Guwahati. Reach Paltanbazar, check into the hotel for night stay. 


Bonus: In Assam there are many places to explore from temples to National Parks to world famous river Island. 

Temples like Kamakhya temple in Guwahati, Umananda in the heart of river Brahmaputra, historical monuments Rang ghar, Talatal ghar in Sivasagar and Majuli island etc. 


And Kaziranga National Park, Manash, Nameri, Popiyatora, Uranga are some naturally beautiful places one must visit.
